Seventy jobs are on the way in the Hartlepool area after a pigments firm announced its latest investment.
Huntsman has formed a new customer care centre at Wynyard in the latest stage of a restructure.
Company founder Jon Huntsman performed the opening ceremony at the centre which follows on from earlier investment by Huntsman at Wynyard.
The move will create over 70 jobs for the area and follows Huntsman’s plans to significantly restructure its pigments and additives business and move all centralized services to Huntsman’s global business centres.
The Customer Care Centre joins the Innovation Centre, opened in November 2013, and Titanium House, opened in May 2011, already situated at the Wynyard campus.
Simon Turner, president for Huntsman Pigments and Additives, said: “We are in the process of building a global market leading business. The services we provide from our Wynyard campus will help our competitiveness.
“The expansion of the Wynyard campus means the creation of over 70 jobs for the area and the opportunity to improve our services to our global customer base.”
