Jobs boost at contact centre

A FLOURISHING contact centre is in the middle of recruiting 45 extra workers.

Respondez, based in Brenda Road, Hartlepool, says the success is down to its existing contracts doing so well that it needs to take on extra staff to cope with demand.

Sales and marketing director of Respondez, Sue Marshall, said: “The recruitment process is ongoing and it is down to increased capacity on existing contracts.”

She said one “key” contract alone now needed 50 workers to handle it.

The company’s Hartlepool workforce now stands at 250 people and she added: “It remains a possibility that we could grow further. Things are looking really good.”

Respondez provides a number of inbound and outbound services including sales, support, email, chat, and technical support.

It offers services for a variety of industries from contact centre sites in six countries including the United States of America, United Kingdom and India.

Sue added: “Some of the 45 extra staff have already been taken on.”

Respondez serves industries which include retail, entertainment, gaming and financial services. The business is the UK arm of Indian giant Spanco whose staff numbers have grown from around 4,000 to 15,000 in the last five years.

Respondez is a global business, with multinational companies using the centre in Hartlepool as a base for their European operations.

As well as extra staff to handle contracts, Respondez has also recently taken on expert help at the highest level.

Les Stilwell is the new non-executive director and will act as an independent voice on the company’s important business decisions, focusing his time on further developing the business strategy for Respondez.
