AN invitation has gone out to adult learners, job seekers and parents to attend a major skills symposium.
Tees Valley Skills, the largest skills event for people aged 14 plus in Tees Valley, is a day away.
It will be held at the Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough.
More than 60 exhibitors will be demonstrating to would-be employees the skills and qualifications needed to start a career in key Tees Valley sectors.
PD Ports, owner of Hartlepool’s dockland, is among the organisations taking part alongside the NHS, RAF, Royal Navy and National Skills Academy.
Tees Valley Unlimited managing director Stephen Catchpole said: “It is imperative that we engage with young people taking options or currently not in education, employment or training, and help them overcome any barriers they believe may be preventing them from making the most of their lives.
“The Tees Valley Skills event is a great opportunity for young people to speak to experts, who can inspire them about potential career paths and advise them how to gain the confidence and ability necessary to secure employment.
“We also are encouraging parents to attend the event so they can equip themselves with the knowledge necessary to help and support their children in to the world of work.
“The event will showcase the very best Tees Valley has to offer regarding apprenticeships, training, further education and careers.”
Tees Valley Skills runs from 9am to 6pm. To find out more visit www.teesvalleyskills.co.uk
