KEVIN Gibbon is celebrating a silver milestone after completing 25 years with the same firm.
The 52-year-old, from Hartlepool, has been rewarded after achieving a quarter of a century’s service with Jennings Motor Group where he works as a manager.
And that’s just part of the 35 years he’s had within the motor industry.
Kevin’s career in the motor industry started at 16 when he left school and started work at the former Ewart Parsons dealership in Brenda Road, Hartlepool.
He moved to Jennings in 1986 and is now parts manager at the group’s Ford, Mazda and SEAT supersite in Cargo Fleet Lane, Middlesbrough.
Kevin’s career with Jennings started in the parts department of the Yarm Road dealership, in Stockton. He quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to assistant manager.
In 1992, he became parts manager and transferred to the group’s Washington branch, before taking over the reins within the parts department of the Newcastle Road dealership, in South Shields.
In 2003, an opportunity arose at the group’s supersite on Cargo Fleet Lane in Middlesbrough and Kevin transferred there.
Kevin, who was given loyalty vouchers, said: “It is great to have your hard work recognised in such a rewarding way.”
The presentation took place in Middlesbrough where Peter Binks, group parts manager, handed the loyalty vouchers to Kevin.
Nicky Dalkin, operations director for Jennings Motor Group, said: “Over the years, Kevin has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in the industry.
“I would like to congratulate him for achieving 25 years’ loyalty and wish him many more successful and happy years with the company.”
