THE search has begun to find 40 health care workers to provide nursing care in areas including Hartlepool.

Both experienced and newly qualified nurses and midwives are needed by the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.

Bosses want to hear from “caring and passionate” people willing to provide high quality care.

And to fill the posts, trust chiefs are planning recruitment events in the area.

They say they have “40 vacancies across the trust to ensure excellent nursing care.”

A spokesman said: “The trust is launching a nursing and midwifery recruitment drive as it looks to fill a number of permanent vacancies across the University Hospital of North Tees, the University Hospital of Hartlepool and throughout the community.”

To find out more, people are invited to come along to recruitment events and speak to some of the senior nursing staff about the opportunities available.

The first recruitment event will be held on Wednesday, August 28, between 1.30pm and 4pm at The Education Centre in Norton.

The second runs between 1.30pm and 4pm on Wednesday, September 4, and will be held in The Atrium at Hartlepool College of Further Education, in Stockton Street.

The Trust’s director of human resources Clare Curran said: “We are looking for caring and passionate qualified nurses and midwives to provide high quality care for our patients.

“We are looking for nurses and midwives not only with the qualifications to work at our trust, but they also need to share our values.

“They may be newly qualified staff or those who are looking to move to a new role.”

Clare explained just how vital the new recruits would be.

“This is a very exciting time at our trust as we are transforming services to provide the highest standards of clinical care.”

Clare added: “We are offering excellent learning and development opportunities with great terms and conditions across many wards and departments.

“We are looking for people who could bring skills which could make a real difference.”

Anyone who is interested in applying for one of the vacancies should do so on the NHS Jobs website, found at
