A STORE will re-open tomorrow after being given a makeover.
To celebrate its rebranded look, the Wilkinson store in Castledene Shopping Centre, Peterlee, will unveil its new image at 9am.
Two months of work has been going on at the store with a 40-strong workforce but it remained open throughout the revamp for each day except today.
To mark tomorrow’s re-opening, Peterlee’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor Margaret Milsom, will cut a ceremonial ribbon alongside Wilkinsons’ chief financial officer, Ian Ellis, store manager, Sharon Short and the rest of the Wilkinsons’ team.
Early bird shoppers will be treated to free cupcakes and a charity raffle is planned to raise money for Wilkinsons’ charity of the year, Age UK.
Other attractions at tomorrow’s opening will include a balloon modeller in store from 10am to 4pm.
Celebrations will continue on Saturday when free mini stationery sets and badge making kits will be handed out to the first 100 children through the doors.
A face painter will also be in store from 10am to 4pm.
Store manager Sharon Short said: “The whole team has been working extremely hard over the last few months and I have no doubt that customers will be impressed with the new look and feel.”
Wilkinsons offers products in ranges including health and beauty, cleaning, DIY and paint, homeware, furniture and lights.
The company has 358 stores across the UK, and has been trading for more than 80 years.
