Billionaire-heiress Tamara Ecclestone was in the North East today to open her latest beauty bar.

The daughter of Formula One tycoon Bernie Ecclestone has expanded her chain of beauty boutiques by launching one within House of Fraser at Gateshead's intu MetroCentre.

The businesswoman and mum-of-one, who had her baby daughter Sophia in tow, said she was "excited" to be in the region.

The 31-year-old said: "I'm really excited to be here and see the beauty bar for the first time. It looks just how I hoped it would, which is great for brand continuity."

Bottles of hair styling and finishing products from her luxury lifestyle range SHOW Beauty were on display in the black and gold-themed hair boutique.

The products are stocked by the likes of Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Fenwick .

Tamara, dressed in a figure-hugging long-sleeved black dress, added: "Whatever you're wearing, good hair is always the best finish for an outfit.

"The beauty bar is for busy women on the go who want big, bouncy luxurious hair.

"Having your hair done nice makes you feel glamorous and I want women to feel good about themselves after visiting."
