BUSINESSES in Seaton Carew have been forced to close today after a power-cut.

Electricity has been off since 10am today, resulting in both fish and chip shops and the arcades in Seaton Carew to close.

The cause of the power cut has yet to be disclosed but comes just 10 days after a similar incident which left shop-owners and residents without power for nearly 12 hours.

Julie Skeet, 53, who runs Seaton News, in Seaton Carew, said: “I won’t be able to leave the shop at all until it comes back on because I can’t put my shutters down.

“It’s costing me and other businesses a lot of money.”
