A programme of concerts is on the way for the enthusiastic members of a ladies choir.
Officials at the Hartlepool Ladies Choir say they are “rather busy” with rehearsals for a number of upcoming concerts.
It promises to be a packed itinerary for the members with performances in Hartlepool and East Durham, as well as at an iconic London venue.
The series of programmes start with a free event at St Teresa’s in Hartlepool on Saturday July 18.
It will get under way at 7.30pm.
Next on the way is the annual summer concert by the choir which will be held in the Borough Hall.
It takes place on Saturday, September 12 and tickets are available by contacting any member of Hartlepool Ladies Choir.
The series continues with concerts at Horden in September and at St George’s in Hartlepool in October, although the times have yet to be confirmed.
The close of the year will see choir members taking part in one of the biggest events in their calendar.
They will be performing at the Royal Albert Hall in November.
Hartlepool Ladies Choir spokesman Eileen McConnell said: “Cancer Research benefits greatly from the Festival of Chorus and Brass which is held every three years in the Royal Albert Hall and it is hoped that many thousands of pounds will be raised this year again for this very worthy cause.”
The choir has been hitting the high notes now for 10 years and enjoys an increasing membership.
It was originally formed when the wives of members of the Hartlepool Male Voice Choir decided to form their own organisation in 2002. The ladies have now built up their own large repertoire of songs, including songs from the shows, songs from the movies, as well as a number of American folk numbers.
Anyone wanting to find out more about the choir should come along to weekly Thursday sessions from 7pm at the Resource Centre at Grange Road Church.
