Army Cadets have raised more than £500 for a local Chron’s and colitis group.

Cleveland Army Cadet Force’s Training Sergeant Major, Andy Johnson, handed a cheque for £510 to Bernice Wood, Chair of the Tees Group of Crohn’s and Colitis UK.

The charity was adopted by The Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess of Cleveland ACF to receive charity cash raised by them during 2015.

Sgt Major Johnson is himself a sufferer, as is the daughter of another instructor.

Bernice said: “This money will help with our ongoing work to inform those diagnosed with the condition”. The charity is also hoping to support the James Cook Holistic Centre.

You can contact Bernice and the Tees Group of Crohn’s & Colitis UK by emailing , or call 0845 130 6843 (calls cost 7p per minute).
