Car smashed into wall in Hartlepool

A MAN was rushed to hospital after the car he was driving crashed into a wall.

Police were called to Troutpool Close, on Hartlepool’s Central Estate, to a report of a single-vehicle collision.

A red Suzuki Alto collided with a wall and the driver, a man in his 60s, was treated at James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.

Details of his injuries have not been released by emergency services, following the incident, which happened around 8am on Friday.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to Troutpool Close at 8.03am and arrived at 8.09am.

“This was a minor road traffic collision.

“There was one patient with no injury, but he was taken to James Cook University Hospital for a check-up.”

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, and who witnessed the collision, is asked to contact the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on 101, quoting event CVP-14-160293.
