A MAN escaped serious injury when the car he was travelling in drove underneath a tipper truck.
The driver was in a Citroen C2 car in Huckelhoven Way, Hartlepool, when it ran underneath the Hartlepool Borough Council Iveco tipper wagon around 11am yesterday.
He managed to get out of the car and was left shaken but without injury.
A fire brigade spokesman said: “The car had gone under a council wagon and it was left in quite a mess. The driver had managed to get out though and was left shaken by the incident.
“We helped to clear debris from the road and left it in a safe state.”
