A CARE home is hoping to spice up its annual fundraiser by inviting a belly dancer to entertain residents, guests and staff.
Elwick Grange care home holds plenty of activities and fundraisers, but this will be the first time they have included belly dancing.
Yvonne Pattison, of Elwick Grange, in Elwick Road, Hartlepool, said: “We had a guy in last year talking about the war, so this year we asked a former employee to come and belly dance.
“We’ve raised money in previous years through cake stalls, home made crafts and a tombola. We’re keeping them on this year, but the dancing will raise a little bit extra hopefully.
“The money will be spent on entertaining residents and buying them Christmas presents. We try to give them a lot of dignity in there lives and give residents a sense of fulfilment.”
The fundraiser is open to members of the public on Saturday from 11am-4pm.
