THE latest round of the Headland Carnival quiz will be held tomorrow night - with the start of the main event and all of the quirky activities it brings now just weeks away.
Quiz nights are taking place every Wednesday at various pubs around the Headland before the quiz league final is held at the Headland Social Club, in Throston Street, on Wednesday, July 31.
The latest round of the quiz final qualifiers also takes place at the Headland Social Club tomorrow night from 7.30pm.
The countdown to the carnival is now well and truly underway.
The popular annual event gets underway with the Carnival Rock Festival featuring the talented performers from Red Dreams at the Borough Hall on Saturday, July 27.
The Miss Carnival contest also takes place on the same day.
All of the annual favourites will then be held in a jam-packed two week programme including the fair, family fun day, sandcastle and bonny baby competitions culminating in the carnival parade on Saturday, August 10.
With the carnival now just weeks away, organisers, members of the Headland Carnival Committee, are still on the lookout for volunteers who want to help out throughout the fortnight.
A spokesman for the committee said: “It’s never too late for people or organisations who want to offer their support to come forward.
“We are really pleased with the way the programme is looking this year but the more help we get the better.”
A full programme of events will feature in the Mail before the carnival gets underway. To get involved call John Cambridge on (01429) 297462.
