Marie Curie is looking for enthusiastic individuals raring to engage with the local community in Hartlepool.
The charity is encouraging local people to join a Hartlepool fundraising group and make a difference, while meeting new people in the area, having fun and helping to secure the ongoing support delivered by Marie Curie.
As a fundraising group gember volunteers will become a key component in a passionate team, devoted to raising much-needed funds and as much awareness as possible.
With other group members, they will organise collections, fundraising events and other awareness activities.
Fundraising Groups will also promote the work of the charity and encourage support for Marie Curie within their local community.
Community Fundraiser Lisa Wild said: “Joining the Hartlepool Fundraising Group is a wonderful way to play an important role in the work of a national charity at a local level, make new friendships and engage with your community. “We’re really excited and it will make a huge difference locally by helping to raise awareness of the free care Marie Curie provides to people with terminal illnesses in the area.”
The first group meeting will be at Hartlepool People’s Centre, Raby Road, Hartlepool, tomorrow at 6.30pm. Lisa added: “his is a great opportunity to learn more about the work of Marie Curie and hear about our exciting fundraising plans.”
