Charity’s plea for donations

A CHARITY is appealing for people to support its work in aid of vulnerable children.

The Barnardo’s shop, in Carlton Corner, Hartlepool, has issued an urgent SOS asking people to bring a bag of donations to the store this month.

Barnardo’s area business manager David Abdale said: “We really hope that local communities will support our SOS appeal. The more the public donates, the greater the number of children we can help.

“Last year Barnardo’s North East worked with around 14,000 people challenged by poverty, abuse, disability and discrimination.

“The huge cost of this work is partly met thanks to our network of local shops and their hardworking teams.

“Every donation, no matter how large or small, is sincerely appreciated. We also welcome offers of help from potential volunteers.

“All money raised at Barnardo’s charity shops is used to support vulnerable children and young people who use the local Barnardo’s service in their area. But the only way Barnardo’s shop in Hartlepool can continue to offer good quality clothes and accessories is through over- the-door donations.

“This is the perfect time to have a spring clean in your wardrobe and let our shops give a new lease of life to your unwanted clothes and accessories.“
