A CHOIR is tuning up for a concert filled with festive sounds.
A two-part show is planned by Hartlepool Community Choir and there’s still time to buy £5-a-time tickets.
The performance starts at 7.30pm this Thursday at Hartlepool College of Further Education.
It will include a repertoire of folk and well known show tunes in the first half.
The second half will be filled with a host of popular Christmas songs before being finished off with some favourite Christmas carols for the audience to join in with.
The new £53m college’s conference suite will host the event. Refreshments will be available during the interval as well as a raffle to raise funds for Hartlepool & District Hospice.
The choir’s musical director, George Colley, said: “We are delighted to support the hospice and hope that everyone enjoys the wide variety of songs we have chosen for them.”
Choir secretary and event organiser Linda Morley said: “Everyone in the Community Choir has been touched at some time by the wonderful work that the hospice does, either through personal involvement of close family and friends or in the wider community. This concert will hopefully raise much needed funds to show our support for this vital work.”
Hospice director of fundraising Francis McAllister said: “This is a wonderful example of our local community supporting the hospice. Without the efforts of individuals and groups like this we would be unable to continue providing the vital services which we currently do.”
Tickets are available from the hospice on (01429) 855529.
