Christmas gift to celebrate and help Hartlepool community

A COMMUNITY group is using timeless photographs to create “ideal Christmas gifts” and raise money for Hartlepool Carers.

Members of Town of Hartlepool have made a calendar depicting local scenes old and new, as well as a DVD packed with images of Hartlepool through the ages with proceeds going to charity.

Jan Hollis, from Hartlepool Carers, said: “The calendar is an ideal Christmas gift, not only for locals interested in Hartlepool’s history, but it would also make the perfect gift for friends and relatives living out of town or abroad.”

The DVD features photographs and video shot by local photographers as well recreated historical images.

The calendars are priced at £4.99 and DVDs are £9, and are on sale now at Hartlepool Carers Centre, on the corner of York Road and Lowthian Road.

Alternatively both the calendars and and DVD will be on sale at Hartlepool Carers Christmas Bric-a-Brac sale which is being held in the Hartlepool Central Library, in York Road, on Monday, December 15, between 10.30am and 3.30pm.

The gifts can also be reserved by calling Hartlepool Carers on (01429) 283095 or Derrick Rowbotham, one of the Town of Hartlepool group founders, on (0191) 422982.
