It took the whole of the group over eight months to make the quilt, with different people stitching the individual blocks and borders.

The group which has 30 members and meets every Monday at the Seaton Carew Social Club, host the exhibition every two years and always pick a local charity to raise funds for.

This time the group unanimously chose to support Hartlepool and District Hospice and they have spent the last two years working hard to raise money for the charity.

Janice Forbes Community fundraiser at the Hospice “I am looking forward to the exhibition as I have seen the quilt they are raffling and it is stunning.

"I would like to thank the group for choosing to raise funds for the Hospice, it is the support of the local communities which ensures the Hospice can continue to support local people and their families, free of charge.”
