Arrest after Hartlepool teenager threatened at knifepoint on way to school

A MAN has been arrested in connection with an incident where a teenager was threatened at knifepoint as she made her way to school.

The 14-year-old girl was walking through an area known as The Family Wood, between Elwick Road and Catcote Road at around 8.50am on September 8 when the incident happened.

A man is reported to have approached her, asked for the time and threatened her with a knife before the girl managed to break free.

The suspect was wearing a beanie hat and dark clothing, and the blade he brandished in the incident was described a black-handled kitchen knife.

A 66-year-old man was arrested and bailed by Cleveland Police.
