A MAN was arrested on suspicion of burglary after a roof top stand off with police.
The 40-year-old spent around an hour on the roof of some flats in Lancaster Court, Hartlepool, at around 11.30pm on Wednesday night.
A police negotiator was called in after he threatened to jump at one stage.
Cleveland Police said they attended after a report that a man was trying to get into the premises.
The police helicopter hovered above and a fire engine and paramedics were also at the scene on standby.
At around 12.30am he got down, and after being checked over by medics was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
He is currently in police custody.
