POLICE are appealing for information after a schoolboy was attacked.
Officers say a 14-year-old boy was riding his pedal bike along Burnhope Way, in Peterlee, near Recovery Academy Durham (RAD), when he was punched by an unknown teen.
The suspect is described as being about 16 years old, 5ft 5in tall, of medium build, with black permed hair and was wearing dark clothing.
Sergeant Jim Peel, of Peterlee Neighbourhood Police, said: “The boy was riding his pedal cycle near to the RAD building when he was approached by an unknown suspect who pushed him off the bike and then punched him to the face before walking off.”
Although the victim didn’t suffer any injuries and didn’t require hospital treatment, police would like to hear from any witnesses to the incident, which happened around 8.30pm on Thursday, August 28. They should call police on 101 quoting reference DHM-28082014-0446.
