A young boy has been approached by a driver in Hartlepool who offered him candy floss.

Officers are asking parents and children to remain vigilant following a suspicious incident on King Oswy Drive.

At around 5.30pm yesterday, a 10-year-old boy claims that he was approached by a bright red car near to St John Vianney Church.

The man driving the car asked if the boy would like any candy floss. The boy declined and the car drove off in the direction of West View Road.

The driver is described as a white male, over 30-years-old, of a skinny build, with short brown hair, blue eyes and wearing a brown jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Holly Angus on 101.
