A vehicle was stolen as a result of the burglary which has now been given back to the owner.

Detective Constable Kevin Middleton from Stockton CID said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the public who came forward with CCTV following the incidents as it is thanks to them that Hope was convicted.

“I hope the sentence given to him is a clear warning to others that we will not tolerate burglaries and attempted burglaries.

“People’s possessions belong to them and they should never be at risk of being damaged or stolen because of the mindless acts of individuals like Christopher Hope.”
