Delivery van stolen after key chain swiped from driver

POLICE are appealing for information after a delivery van was stolen.

A delivery driver working for UK Mail was making a delivery to a property in Milbank Terrace, Station Town when an unknown person has bumped into him and stolen his key chain.

Moments later his white Ford Transit van was driven off at high speed towards Wingate after the theft at lunchtime on Wednesday.

As the vehicle was driven off some of the vehicle’s parcels spilled out onto the roadside. A burned van was recovered later that same afternoon in the Hutton Henry area and has been confirmed as the stolen vehicle.

The van had blue writing on the side stating “I Post Parcels” and a picture of Parcel Pete on the sides and rear.
