POLICE have re-issued their appeal for witnesses after a couple were viciously attacked on a night out.

The Mail reported last week that Brian Daurge, 32, was left nursing cuts and bruises including footmarks on his face and back after he suffered a vicious gang attack.

It happened in Church Square, when Brian asked the four or five yobs to stop insulting his partner, Carly Hall, a 33-year-old mum-of-two.

The incident happened at around 4am on Sunday, September 30, and shop supervisor Brian was treated at the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton.

Today, a Cleveland Police spokeswoman confirmed there had been no arrests yet.

A second public appeal for witnesses has now been made by investigators.

Anyone with information about what happened is urged to contact Hartlepool Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
