Two raids on a Hartlepool industrial estate led police to seize drugs worth more than £60,000.

Cleveland Police carried out to two drugs warrants executed on the Longhill Industrial Estate, off Belle Vue Way in the town, earlier today.

A photo shared by police show a large-scale cannabis grow discovered in one of the buildings.

It is the latest cannabis farm to be discovered by the town’s policing team, with a series previously found inside homes.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Hartlepool Neighbourhood Officers have executed drugs warrants this morning under Operation Sentinel at two business units on the Longhill Industrial estate in Hartlepool.

“Class B drugs, estimated to be valued at £60,000, and a large quantity of Class C drugs were recovered from the properties.

“A man, 46, was interviewed voluntarily and inquiries are ongoing.”

Sergeant Adrian Dack, of the Hartlepool Community Safety Team, added: "Today’s warrants were a success and a significant amount of drugs have been removed from the streets of Hartlepool.

“The impact of drugs has a detrimental impact on our communities and I hope the warrants send out a clear message that we will not stand for any form of criminal activity and we will act on any information provided to us from the public.”
