Drugs farm seized

A CANNABIS farm worth around £2,000 was uncovered in a garage.

Police found 18 cannabis plants and growing equipment at a garage attached to a house after carrying out a raid.

The incident took place at a house in Attlee Avenue, in Blackhall Rocks, around 10am yesterday.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and cautioned regarding the incident.

Detective Sergeant Steve Thubron, of Peterlee CID, said: “We found 18 mature plants worth between £1,000 and £2,000.

“We cautioned one man and the local authority will be informed.

“All the growing equipment has been dismantled.”
