POLICE have launched an FBI-style online “rogues gallery” so the public can help them catch criminals.

From Monday, Durham Police will be posting CCTV images of suspects on its website, so anyone can view the images and get in touch if they recognise the suspect.

The ‘Caught on Camera’ scheme has been running internally, with officers and staff sharing suitable images on the force intranet.

At any one time it’s expected there will be more than two dozen photos on the ‘Caught on Camera’ page, the vast majority taken by CCTV systems in retail and other commercial premises.

Viewers of the page, at www.durham.police.uk, will be able to click on the relevant image and send an email to a dedicated address.
