A Husband and wife who stripped their godmother of almost all her money to spend on themselves have been jailed for a total of five years today.

Andrew Reeve,55, and his wife Lesley Reeve, 56, stole more than £100,000 from 91-year-old dementia sufferer Joan Killen in only two years.

They spent the cash on themselves, including converting the garage of their home in Chichester Close, Hartlepool, into a gym.

Andrew Reeve, dressed in casual clothes and carrying a hold-all, looked at the floor as he was jailed for two and a half years at Teesside Crown Court.

Lesley Reeve, who wept throughout the sentencing, was jailed for the same period.

The couple were found guilty of theft after a trial last month.

Judge Simon Bourne-Arton said they had been “utterly materialistic” and had not shown “one ounce of remorse” throughout the whole case.
