Hartlepool man back in court after breaching terms of sex offenders’ register

A Hartlepool sex offender admitted having breaching a strict order by having an undisclosed email address when he appeared in court.

Hartlepool man Andrew White, 35, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the notifications of the sex offenders’ register when he appeared before Teesside Magistrates’ Court.

Rachel Stapleton, prosecuting, said in November White was visited by police as part of the order to check computer equipment and devices.

She said: “A tablet was found under his sofa.”

She said it had an email address on it which had not been given to the police as was required under the order.

Ms Stapleton said: “It shows the defendant does use the email address and does use it for social media and Snapchat.”

The case was committed to Teesside Crown Court for sentencing and White, of Wensleydale Street, Hartlepool, with be back in court on a date to be fixed.
