A Hartlepool man has appeared in court accused of grooming a girl.

Richard Ogilvie, 32, pleaded not guilty to two charges at Teesside Crown Court today.

He denies one allegation of meeting a girl following sexual grooming between October 31, 2013 and January 16, 2014.

He also pleaded not guilty to a second charge of causing or inciting the same girl to engage in sexual activity on a date in January 2014.

Judge Simon Hickey adjourned the case until the trial.

It is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 5 and the case is expected to last a minimum of three days.

Barristers and the judge yesterday discussed other administrative matters.

Ogilvie, of Scott Grove, who appeared in the dock wearing a suit and carrying a briefcase, was granted conditional bail until then.
