Hartlepool man denies string of sex attacks against schoolgirls

A MAN has denied a string of historical sex assaults against schoolgirls.

Sydney McDonald is charged with one count of gross indecency, six of indecent assault, three counts of assault on a female namely that he intentionally touched a girl, and one sexual assault on a female.

The alleged offences are said to date back decades.

The 61-year-old appeared at Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to all of the offences.

Chairman of the bench Martin Slimmings sent the case to be dealt with at Teesside Crown Court where it will next be heard on Monday July 28.

McDonald, of Staithes Court, off Mainsforth Terrace, Hartlepool, was released on unconditional bail.
