Hartlepool teenager in court charged over string of burglaries

A HARTLEPOOL youth has appeared in court accused of committing a string of burglaries in the East Durham area.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court charged with five burglaries.

He is accused of breaking into a property in Trimdon on September 18 and a break-in in that allegedly happened in Horden on October 7.

The youth is also charged with committing three commercial properties in Peterlee, which are said to have taken place on October 4, October 5 and October 7.

The youth has not yet entered any pleas to any of the accusations.

He was remanded into youth accommodation until his next court appearance.

The youth will next appear before justices at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court, on Monday.
