Hit and run in Hartlepool – car heading in wrong direction struck cyclist

A CYCLIST was injured in a hit and run incident with a car.

Police are looking for witnesses to the collision when the 24-year-old man was hit by a vehicle which did not stop.

The cyclist suffered cuts, bruising and broken teeth after being struck at the junction of Windermere Road and Ashgrove Avenue, Hartlepool, at around 6.30pm on Tuesday, December 10.

The vehicle is believed to have driven on to Ashgrove Avenue in the wrong direction and with no lights on.

Any witnesses or anyone who may have information about the vehicle is asked to contact PC Simon Gee from Hartlepool Police on 101, quoting reference number 217297.
