Lock-up raid nets odd haul

A BIZARRE haul of suspected stolen goods including a life-sized wooden skeleton, dozens of religious paintings and a quad bike has been discovered by police.

Almost 80 items were discovered by police when they raided a lock-up garage in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough

Police believe the property could have come from across the North-East, including Hartlepool and east Durham.

The haul also includes a large flat bed trailer, a tall mahogany plant stand, a cement mixer, a large engraved silver tray and an old-fashioned wooden rocking horse.

Officers want to find the items’ owners and have asked anyone who thinks any of the goods are theirs to get in touch.

Photos of some of the items, which were found at the back of Eastbourne Road, have been placed on the Cleveland Police website.

To make a claim call DC Matthew Inness, of Middlesbrough Police, on (01642) 303126.

Anyone with information on how the items came to be stored in the lock-up is also asked to contact DC Inness or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
