Man appears in court in connection with triple-death crash

A MAN has appeared in court in connection with a crash that claimed the lives of three women.

Jak Parker, 23, is charged with three counts of causing death by dangerous driving in relation to the deaths of Rebecca Learoyd, 18, and Megan Robinson, 19, both of Thornley, and Anne Peachey, 60, of Sherburn Hill, who died after a crash in Shotton Colliery’s Front Street on Sunday, June 23, last year.

Parker, of Crimdon Terrace, Blackhall Colliery and formerly of Wingate, did not enter a plea to the alleged offences.

Magistrates transferred the case to be heard at Durham Crown Court on Thursday, April 10.

He was granted unconditional bail.
