A 20-YEAR-OLD man has admitted burgling two houses, two shops and a pub.

Jason Kennedy took electrical items from the houses, drink from the pub, and cigarettes from the shops, Durham Crown Court heard.

Kennedy, of Eden Street, Horden, pleaded guilty to five charges of burglary.

All of the offences were in the last two months in Horden and Peterlee.

Jane Waugh, defending, asked for a probation report before Kennedy is sentenced.

Judge Christopher Prince granted the application for the report to be prepared, and adjourned the case until early next year.

Judge Prince told Kennedy: “It is inevitable there will be a custodial sentence in this case.

“The question is how long.”

Kennedy was remanded in custody until January 16 when he will be dealt with.
