A MAN has appeared in court accused of biting off another person’s ear in a pub scuffle.
Darren Wilkinson, 41, of Bruce Glazier Terrace, Shotton Colliery, has been remanded in custody after an incident at the village’s Shotton Comrades Social Club on Boxing Day.
Wilkinson is charged with malicious wounding with intent as well as five common assaults, allegedly committed on three men and two women on the same night.
A youth and another man have also been charged with a public order offence and are awaiting a court date.
Wilkinson appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court and was remanded to appear at Durham Crown Court on Monday, January 6. No pleas have yet been entered.
