Man in hospital with serious head injuries after attack outside Hartlepool Marina pub

A MAN is in hospital with serious head injuries after being attacked outside of a marina pub.

The 37-year-old Hartlepool man was assaulted during a disturbance outside Rosie O’Grady’s pub, on Hartlepool Marina.

He is still in hospital being treated for his injuries despite the incident happening on Saturday, June 1, around 9.30pm, and is expected to remain there for some time.

Today Cleveland Police said its officers had been studying CCTV footage and know that there were a number of people in the area at the time. They would like to speak to these men and women.

A 20-year-old man from the Kent area was arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed pending further inquiries. Witnesses should ring Detective Sergeant Matt Hollingsworth, from the Major Crime Team, on 101 or Crimestoppers on (0800) 555111.
