Man is questioned over Hartlepool street attack as man remains in hospital with head injuries

A man has been arrested following a serious assault on a Hartlepool street.

A 34-year-old man from the town has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident which left a man with a serious head injury.

The incident took place on Cornwall Street, close to Uppingham Street, in Hartlepool, on Saturday, October 3, at around 8.15pm.

The 30-year-old victim suffered a significant head injury and remains in James Cook University Hospital.
