Man slashed with ‘sharp blade’ outside Hartlepool store

DETECTIVES are investigating an incident in which a man was slashed across the arm with a “sharp blade”.

The victim was outside of the Lidl store, on Jesmond Road, in Hartlepool, when the assault took place.

The attacker, who was riding a bike, shouted abuse at the man before getting off his bike and slashing him across the arm with the weapon.

He then got back onto his bike and rode off along Jesmond Road towards Hart Lane.

The victim suffered a cut to his arm which was about two inches long and he required medical treatment at the One Life Centre, in Park Road.

The suspect is described as a white male and aged in his early twenties.

The incident happened at around 5.15pm on Monday 2nd June.
