Man slashed with weapon in Hartlepool attack

A MAN was taken to hospital after being slashed by a weapon in the early hours.

Police were called to a disturbance in Calder Grove, off Campbell Road, in the Rossmere area of Hartlepool, just after midnight on Wednesday. The force helicopter was also involved.

Officers say that on arrival a 27-year-old man was found with superficial injuries, believed to have been caused by a sharp implement.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough for treatment.
