Plea to find rider after off-road bike used for anti-social behaviour
Police officers are appealing to find the rider of an off-road bike following anti-social behaviour.
On Sunday, January 12, PCSOs from Peterlee Neighbourhood Police Team were tasked to Shotton Colliery following reports of anti-social use of an off-road bike along Shotton lines and Hawthorne Terrace.
A statement on the Peterlee Police Facebook page said: “Whilst officers were not able to stop the rider they were able to utilise DNA captor spray on the rider.
“This spray stays on the rider and bike for a long time which helps us to identify at a later date.”
Those who may know who the rider is are asked to message Peterlee Police directly or to contact Peterlee Neighbourhood Team on the non-emergency number 101 to help them with their inquiries.
On the same day, officers also attended Shotton Colliery to speak to a “vulnerable elderly couple” after their car was deliberately covered in mud by someone on an off-road bike.
