Police appeal for witnesses after pensioner attacked on way home from night out in Hartlepool

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner needed hospital treatment after being attacked as he made his way home from a night out.

The man, 68, was attacked near to the United Services social club, in Miers Avenue, Hartlepool, shortly after midnight on Tuesday, April 8.

The victim suffered head and back injuries in the attack, and was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, for treatment.

He was discharged from hospital on Tuesday morning after being assessed by doctors.
