Police find large cannabis farm in Hartlepool raid

Police have uncovered a large cannabis farm in a swoop on a house in Hartlepool.

Officers raided the address in Penrhyn Street this afternoon, Tuesday, February 4, in response to a tip-off from a member of the public.

And they have urged anyone with information about other farms to get in touch.

A Cleveland Police statement said: “On Tuesday 4th February 2020 at 15:20 hours, Neighbourhood Officers from the Hartlepool Community Safety Team attended an address in Penrhyn Street, acting on intelligence from the local community.

“A large cannabis farm was recovered from a residential address.”Sgt Ian Raine of the Hartlepool Neighbourhood Police Team said "We actively encourage members of our local communities to report any concerns they may have, allowing us to act on the information provided and take positive action.

“Cannabis farms pose a serious fire risk to local residents and are a major contributor to Organised Crime".
