Police hunt man wanted in connection with Teesside rape who ‘could be anywhere’

POLICE have issued an appeal to trace a man wanted in connection with an attempted rape on Teesside.

Officers want to speak to Cezar Florea, 26, who is of Romanian origin, about an incident in Middlesbrough.

Cleveland Police tweeted: “Please RT and help us urgently trace Cezar Florea who could be anywhere in the country”.

He is said to have links with the Stockton, Middlesbrough and London areas.

The alleged sex attack happened at around 6am on Saturday, June 7, on the A66 North Ormesby flyover near Lytton Street.

The victim suffered serious injuries, including a broken shoulder and broken nose and underwent hospital treatment.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Police would like to speak to him as a matter of urgency in relation to the incident.

“He may have tried to change his appearance by growing a beard or moustache.

“Members of the public are asked not to approach him, but to call 999 if they see him.”

Anyone who may have information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101.
