A MAN is in a serious condition in hospital after being found with an injury to his neck.
Detectives are appealing for help to find how he suffered the injury. He was taken to hospItal and is in a “poorly” condition.
Police were called to Gladstone Terrace, in Station Town, by paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service at around 6pm on Monday.
The 41-year-old man was taken to University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, and later transferred for surgery to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
It is yet clear what caused the injury or how he came to be hurt. Detective Constable Nigel Dowd, of Peterlee CID, said: “It is a serious injury. The man is very poorly.”
