Police quizzing man after armed raid on Hartlepool home

A MAN is in police custody accused of burgling a house in Hartlepool while armed with a weapon.

The 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary following an incident at a house in Carlton Street, in the town centre area of Hartlepool, around 3pm on Sunday, December 28.

The victim, a woman, reported the burglary to police and said that two men had entered her home brandishing a weapon.

Police have yet to confirm what the implement was, but they have said that a small amount of cash was stolen in the raid.

The men are also said to have made off from the house in a vehicle which was later recovered by officers.

The homeowner was not injured in the incident.
