Police still hunting thugs who robbed worker behind Hartlepool shops

POLICE are still hunting for thugs who robbed a worker of a “substantial amount of cash”.

The woman was targeted in the car park near to St Patrick’s shops, in Owton Manor Lane, Hartlepool, at 2.53pm on Friday.

The robbers are believed to have stolen takings from a local business that the employee was going to deposit in a bank.

Detectives are still investigating the crime but have yet to arrest anyone in connection with it.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police today said: “We have yet to make any arrests in connection with the robbery and would appeal for anyone with any information about the incident to get in touch.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to telephone police on the non-emergency number 101.
